Oprah Adds Cauliflower to Pizza Crust
Entertainment Mogul Oprah Winfrey has moved her O So Good food line into the frozen pizza section of your grocery store. Good for her. What’s wrong with a little cauliflower added to a pizza crust – lowering those carbs and adding a little veggie material – right? Where has Oprah been for the past 35 years, while I’ve been out there – beating my drum about food allergies. Clearly not in my corner – yet!
Oprah where are you? Congratulations on the addition of cauliflower – but, which is the major offending food in a pizza crust? You guessed it – wheat! Wheat is a big culprit and can cause arthritis, joint stiffness, gas, bloating, foggy thinking, weight gain, and a host of other problems.
Yes, add the cauliflower, but next step: switch out the wheat for a non-gluten grain such as quinoa or rice – and come up with a truly supportive pizza crust. Education around food allergies and sensitivities is clearly missing from every day culture.
