Spiritual Cinema Circle
In our youth-obsessed culture, have we forgotten that the aging process comes with many gifts? The strength to know that "this too shall pass," the courage to speak our truth, and wisdom from many hard-won life experiences are just a few of the Universal gifts brought to us through time and maturity.
Our Friends at Spiritual Cinema Circle have brought together a collections of films that cinematically reveal the passion and humor our gracefully aging seniors that aptly depict the gifts of experience.
Barbara Hershey and Ron Perlman star in the feature Uncross the Stars, a transformational story of spunky seniors who guide a young grieving widower to reopen his heart to the world around him.
You can receive a free DVD of this movie, plus three great short films, plus Mariel Hemingway's very special in-depth interview with spiritual teacher John Holland. Simply click here now!
Enjoy the movie!

DailyOM: Learning to Live
by Madisyn Taylor
Wouldn't it be great if we were born with
instruction manuals? Each one would be different based on what we needed to learn, but the basics would be the same: how to create healthy relationships, how to deal with sorrow and pain, how to reach our goals, and how to know what we want to do with our lives when we grow up.

February is the traditional month of heart, flowers and Valentines.
But it is not necessarily a happy month for everyone especially those who long for that special someone in their life. There are two things that prevent us from manifesting love in our lives:
1. the power of addictions and
2. the lack of belief.
I want to focus on two special women who have written books about addictions and how they keep us from attracting all the good that life can bring.
Then you can take the Soulmate Quiz and see where you stand in relationships and then we'll take a look at "Commitment" and one woman's take on that knotty subject. In the meantime, if you'd like my perspective on love read on.
"Manifesting Love in Your Life"
Blessings, Caroline

How Addiction Holds
Us Back
Deepak Chopra says that the only thing holding us back from vibrant health is the power of addictions. If you are feeling exasperated about your own or your family member's addiction or you are fed up with watching your loved ones destroy their lives. Then "Loving Yourself ~ Loving an Addict" by Candace Plattor M.A., offers a way through.
An addiction is anything that holds us back: If someone you love is engaging in addictive behaviors such as alcohol and drug misuse, eating disorders, smoking, gambling, internet addiction, sex addiction, compulsive overspending, or relationship addiction, you are undoubtedly experiencing unpredictability in the relationship.
We need to love ourselves more than we love or accept this kind of behavior. Candace a skilled practitioner of my favorite therapy EMDR shows us how in her Top 10 Survival Tips.
Loving an Addict, Loving Yourself.

A Loving Act of Kindness
If you're like me, you do things spontaneously - from the heart.
Just before Christmas I participated in a silent auction with proceeds going to the Children's Hospital. I was bidding on a pretty wool scarf - just my color - pink. Pauline was also bidding on the scarf. I placed my final bid and left for another party.
The next morning, I found out I had won the scarf. I wore the scarf a few times, I loved the color but I found it very bulky and thick around the neck. Last week I spread the scarf out on my dining room table. Boy, I thought, that's enough scarf for two people. I pulled a thread down the middle of the scarf (a sewing trick to find the middle of the fabric) and then I carefully cut the scarf in two. Then I frayed the cut edge of the scarf to create a finished look. I wrapped it in tissue, placed it in a pretty bag and on my way to church, I hung it on Pauline's door. Never underestimate the power of your inner promptings.
It turned out, at that moment Pauline's husband was in the hospital with terminal cancer.
Needless to say, she was thrilled. Small acts of kindness, as Mother Theresa said can lift the world.
Send a card, leave a flower on someone's doorstep, call a friend or share a scarf.

Are You Trapped?
Kathleen Schmidt is one of my Facebook friends. Everyone has a story and some of them are pretty horrendous. I applaud Kathleen for writing her book and telling her story about surviving and becoming empowered through domestic violence.
Kathleen Schmidt documents her spirit led, step-by-step journey into the freedom from a violent marraige and the creation of a whole new life.
