Extreme Home Makeover Remedies Mold Problems Posted on May 12th, 2009

Last night I watched Extreme Home Makeover. I love Ty Pennington and his complete control or out-of-control home redos for deserving families.
In last night’s show, a Nevada family found themselves in a huge crisis because inside their new tract home severe damage resulted from a number of floods. Apparently, poor construction, bad plumbing installation, and over-flowing drains caused a build-up of environmental molds putting the two children into life-threatening health problems.
These mold problems were so severe to the point where the girls could not attend regular school and had to rely on breathing apparatus to cope with the environment. The parents were understandably distraught. In my opinion, mold is one of the biggest health challenges that we face in today’s world. Stay away from moldy damp climates. Keep basements dry and realize that mold can be more serious than we think. It can trigger not only breathing problems but headaches, depression and anxiety not to mention arthritis and join pain. Stay dry, stay elevated. Buy a home that is off the ground and has a dry basement or crawl space. Get your home checked out every year for creeping ubiquitous molds.
