Director Tom Shadyac Produces Documentary Posted on August 28th, 2011

If you enjoyed the crazy, insane-yet-delightful movies Ace Ventura, Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey, you’ve heard of director Tom Shadyac. Known for his block-buster movies, 53-year-old Shadyac takes a new turn in the documentary I AM scheduled to hit select theatres this week. According to Shadyac in a recent interview on The View, he had it all – all the toys and all the perks and yet there was something missing from his life. It took a dramatic bike accident and subsequent recovery from Post-Concussion Syndrome for Shadyac to re-evaluate his life. The 53-year-old filmmaker, sold his mansion and now lives in a mobile home community in Malibu, California. Then he embarked on a quest for enlightenment, meeting with experts in science, philosophy and faith, among other areas. He spoke with the likes of David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky and Desmond Tutu, asking what’s wrong with the world and what can people do to make it right. The result is his new film I AM. What are you doing with your life? What are you doing to make the world a better place? What will it take for you to wake up? Get inspired – see I AM.

Kim Kardashian has Psoriasis Posted on August 10th, 2011

If you thought that you had problems, it seems that pop celebrity Kim Kardashian has a big one – psoriasis. According to health-expert Lisa Collier Cool in her comprehensive article about psoriasis, not only does Ms Kardashian suffer from this unsightly and worrying condition but so does LeAnn Rimes, golfer Phil Mickelson and Project Runaway’s Tim Gunn. What to do? While Ms Collier Cool has commented from the medical perspective, I would like to comment on psoriasis from the medical intuitive perspective. In my 30 years of experience in Environmental Medicine, Candida yeast and food allergies, most of the cases of psoriasis that I have seen have cleared up nicely once dairy products are eliminated, sugars are minimized and Candida Yeast is treated. The skin is the last manifestation of the gut. Treating the skin is not the long-term solution. Once digestion is corrected, gut flora rebalanced and yeast controlled, psoriasis, eczema and dandruff all disappear. Kim Kardashian, take heart.
